About Lisa Flores
Nothing beats the look in the eyes of people who purchase a home after thinking they never could, says REALTOR® Lisa Flores of San Antonio, Texas. “That’s the reason I got into real estate. Both my parents were business owners and were always giving back to the community. When I was able to do that, it reaffirmed where I came from and how I was raised.” Though an award winning agent representing buyers and sellers in the San Antonio area, Lisa still focuses on her passion for making the American Dream a reality for families. After nearly three years breaking records with Keller Williams, Lisa recently joined RE/MAX Signature.
It al started, however, when she worked for a cellphone company in McAllen, Texas, where one of her accounts was a new home building company. That builder witnessed Lisa’s terrific customer service skills on behalf of his team and insisted she apply for a job. She was offered the job immediately during her first meeting with the sales manager and was soon licensed to sell homes. “I had no idea how to sell homes or anything about real estate except my own purchases,” Lisa says, adding that at age 21 she purchased a small ranch, before later purchasing apartment complexes and eventually purchasing her own home in San Antonio.
When she began, Lisa was still a full-time college student with ambitions of becoming an attorney. “The builder gave me a binder of leads and said, ‘this is your baby. Do what you can with it.’” Although she felt lost for a few days, she sold and closed a home by the end of her first week. Before long, Lisa was closing 25 transactions a month and earning top-seller recognitions.
In spite of her swift success and the convertible Mustang her employer awarded her, Lisa’s greatest pleasure was helping people own homes. Her builder-employer was in the business of owner-financed new home onstruction, a formula that provided homeownership without bank loans. With the builder as owner, buyers did not need to qualify for mortgages, instead building equity with each payment and little or no down payment. Lisa excelled so quickly that the company relocated her twice to expand their presence in San Antonio and Houston.
“I loved helping families achieve a dream they never thought they could,” says Lisa. Now back in San Antonio with her own practice, Lisa manages a team that cultivates that same passion for people. When she left the new-home construction side of the business, Lisa took great knowledge and experience with her. “I quickly developed builder relationships, started listing homes for them and created a move-up program and lease-buyouts to help families ultimately get into their own homes.”
Lisa truly loves the closeness with each client and the diversity of buyers and sellers from all walks of life. “You have to listen, relate and be able to understand people almost like a therapist would,” she says. “They know they can trust me and count on me to be there for them.” Her referral network, therefore, has built itself based on her reputation.
“My clients know I’m always there to answer questions and walk them through the steps,” says Lisa. While word-of-mouth recommendations comprise the greatest portion of her business, her marketing efforts for listings include professional staging, professional photography and video in addition to email blasts, online advertising and inclusion on 320 search engines.
Lisa’s business is poised for continued growth and community engagement. “I recently formed a team and we’re getting more involved with Meals on Wheels, delivering food once a week to the less fortunate.” That new team also allows Lisa to expand her marketing efforts. “I’m fluent in Spanish and have started to expand my network of foreign national clientele from Mexico, the U.S. and all points globally who are either moving here, purchasing investment homes or vacation homes.” Meanwhile, her team remains dedicated to the principles Lisa holds dear. “We love helping people achieve the American Dream by establishing trust, creating loyalty and bringing you value.”
